History

In 1985, tired of working as an administrator and wanting to get back to Research & Development like he had done at Sandia National Laboratory, Dave Rice formed Team Specialty Products (TSP). Dave was a one-man operation in the beginning and provided design services to SNL while outsourcing the actual design fabrication.

Building up a small staff, TSP by 1990 had out grown its first location so Dave moved the company to a larger location on Cochiti Rd. At Cochiti, Dave added both machining and electronic manufacturing capabilities while expanding the engineering staff.

Always growing, TSP expanded the Cochiti location to 6,000 feet of office, laboratory and fabrication space in 1996.

By 1999 TSP was bursting at the seams with 20 plus employees, greater machining and electronic manufacturing capabilities, and an expanded customer base. Wanting to be closer to its primary customer, SNL, TSP began looking at a location in the new Sandia Science and Technology Park.

In October of 2000, TSP moved into 12,000 square feet of office, laboratory and manufacturing space at 1400 Eubank Blvd SE, Albuquerque while keeping the Cochiti location for a pulse power lab. TSP was among the first Sandia Science and Technology Park residents. Quickly needing more space, TSP added additional second floor space in 2001 increasing the total square footage to 14,000.

Time marches on and in 2002 Dave felt it was time to spend some quality time with his family and decided to retire. He turned the TSP reins over to two brothers with a lot of business and manufacturing experience, Daniel and Robert Sachs.

Danny and Bob (as they like to be called) formed TEAM Technologies, Inc as a parent company over TSP. Once established as the President and CEO respectively, the brothers greatly expanded the electronics fabrication and manufacturing capabilities by acquiring MC Manufacturing in 2004.

TSP again outgrew its facilities so another 22,000 square feet was added to the existing building in 2006. Also in 2006, TSP was awarded a contract to provide a local source for commonly SNL used electronic parts. This became TSP’s Just In Time (JIT) location.

As 2007 played out it became apparent to Danny and Bob that the company name, Team Specialty Products, no longer reflected all that TEAM represented. They felt that since the parent company name, TEAM Technologies, better represented the company capabilities that would be the company name. The name change from Team Specialty Products to TEAM Technologies is effective January 1, 2008.
