Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc. commissioned TEAM to design and build an automated instrument to assemble components of their MRI Mammotome® medical device. TEAM successfully designed and manufactured an Industrial Press Station used to press two types of MRI Mammotome® components.

The press station provides the capability to press two different configurations of MRI Mammotome® components: (1) Probe Needle assembly into the Handle Bottom and (2) Sleeve Thumbwheel assembly into the Sleeve Mount. The press station was built in compliance with the safety requirements of Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc, that included inspection of power sources, mechanical movement, control mechanism and circuits, and human factor considerations.
